Heavy-fermion systems: Topological Kondo Insulator SmB6

This part will discuss primarily the theory of topological Kondo insulators. Surprisingly, the phenomenology is too large to cover here! The “topological insulator revolution” was indirectly responsible for solving a four decade long mystery of resistivity saturation of SmB6 below 4 K. This part would serve as a nice review of topological band theory as well as offer a case study from the jungle of heavy-fermion materials.
